<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article deals with history of time-geography formation as independent scientific direction in social geography and space-time approach’s conceptual foundations, based in works of foreign and Russian geographers. For more than 40 years space-time approach is used widely in foreign researches of various directions, but until now hasn’t received wide recognition from Russian geographers. Main stages of time-geography development, feature of new time-geography and causes of its appearance (development of information and communication technologies, their increased role in individuals’ everyday life), examples of research areas in various geography fields are given. Prospects and possible application of time-geography in Russia are sketched. Role of visualization and graphic-analytical Method as a common approach to analyzing spatio-temporal data about life and activities of individuals is underlined.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>география времени</kwd><kwd>хроногеография</kwd><kwd>новая хроногеография</kwd><kwd>Лундская школа</kwd><kwd>пространственно-временной подход</kwd><kwd>пространственно-временной анализ</kwd><kwd>визуализация</kwd><kwd>графо-аналитический метод</kwd><kwd>мобильность населения</kwd><kwd>пространство деятельности</kwd><kwd>пространственно-временной куб</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>time-geography</kwd><kwd>new time-geography</kwd><kwd>Lund School</kwd><kwd>space-time approach</kwd><kwd>space-time analysis</kwd><kwd>visualization</kwd><kwd>graphic-analytical Method</kwd><kwd>mobility of population</kwd><kwd>action space</kwd><kwd>activity space</kwd><kwd>spacetime cube</kwd><kwd>cyberspace</kwd><kwd>human extensibility</kwd><kwd>activity density</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Анимица Е.Г., Шарыгин М.Д.
